Baltic Sea Nutrient Issues in Stockholm, Sweden

During a 3-day planning meeting with the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency in September 2008, Mark Kieser shared lessons learned in the U.S. on water quality trading to the Environmental Ministry in order to assess the applicability of trading to the Baltic Sea region. The Baltic Sea is experiencing hypoxic zones due to excessive nitrogen loading, similar to the problems facing the Gulf of Mexico in the U.S.
